The problem, as I see it, is technology.
It does so much for us that we have not learned how to learn, how to think. This newest generation is in for a world of hurt as they are ill-equipped to face life.

Yes, seeing a group of high school students walking to school looking down at their smart phones is a symptom of too much technology.

It is Technology coupled with the extreme indoctrination in the education system. If you say the politically incorrect truth, you will be punished by your teachers/professors. Kids will do what is necessary to ‘get the grade’ so they follow the profs like sheep. Unfortunately, 99.5% of those teaching, at all levels, are Leftists/Marxists. (I get the 99.5 % from an old poll, done at the University of Colorado, Boulder, about 25 years ago. The faculty of around 200 profs were polled on their Party registration. 198 of the profs said Democrat and 2 said Republican. Then one of the 2 said, ‘no, I was just kidding, I am really a Democrat. So, at that time, 199/200 stated they were Democrats. I think it has only become worse since then.)

I just used a math program to solve a problem that no one
would ever want to solve by hand. Technology is only a problem because it is misused. I have students who pick up a calculator even for the most basic math. Our education system is a joke. Not only is the next generation not ready for prime time, they often have delusions of grandeur, and unrealistic expectations of life.
