It's going nowhere and ultimately will once again make Cruz look like a fool.

So if the bill doesn't have the vote, then it shouldn't be brought up for a vote??

As a stand alone bill, Kate's Law probably stood a good chance of passage. But...

Kate's Law is incorporated into a bill by Sen. David Vitter, R-La., to punish sanctuary cities like San Francisco, which won't cooperate with federal authorities on immigration enforcement, by withholding some federal grants from them.

...folded into a bill designed to punish sanctuary cities (i.e. Democrat cities), it is doomed to die of filibusteritis.

Thus, the GOP leadership works to kill some good bills by making them stand alone and kills others by incorporation.
