Spending nary a dime, Donald Trump has leapfrogged a large field of presidential wannabees to take a commanding lead in the race for the Republican nomination for president.
Anyone in that position who had unlimited financial resources and who truly wanted to win the nomination would have already unleashed wall-to-wall ads in Iowa, New Hampshire, South Carolina and Nevada, and would be assembling a massive ground-game in those states.
Why? Because if Trump won those primaries convincingly, it would be all over but the shouting.
Such a candidate would also be fielding ads and building organization in the compressed March 1-15th states where delegates will be handed out proportionally to build an uncatchable lead.
No one else can do this because they are donor-dependent and the donors want to see evidence of feasibility in early states to hedge their bets.
But, the Donald's only donor is himself. And, it does not seem that himself is taking the Donald's candidacy seriously enough to invest.
Two hundred million deployed now could wrap it all up for him....

It would seem that if I were a “GOP e Hack” I would have some kind of position of authority or power or a place in the party hierarchy somewhere and I guarantee you I have none of that ... I vote when I feel strongly about something and that is the extent of my political involvement. (I used to give money but Id rather hang on to it these days) I am also an individual who questions damn near everything, (which would serve you well if you ever decide to do it)and I can tell you what I think.... Last I think you and your friends are dead wrong about a whole lot of stuff....
I sure as hell know you wouldn’t know a GOPe hack if he/ she bit you on the ass.
One other thing you might want to ponder some day ...What is the difference between a liberal who doesn’t agree with someone and labels them a “racist” and a “conservative” who doesn’t agree with someone and labels them the “GOPe” ?
Well, he is living rent free in their heads. No dimes spent for that.
That would be good.
What you say is true, but I’m not sure the enemedia looks at it that way. They think viewers tune in to see their clever and witty talking heads engaging with the candidates. Their talking heads are the stars of the show and the candidates are merely the props.
woofie, I don’t know why you and others have such anger and hatred towards Mr Trump. I worked the last 2 presidential campaigns praising candidates that didn’t even come close to Mr Trump’s values. I begged and pleaded with people to go to the polls. I had so many angry with me. I was called all sorts of nasty names by friends family and people on this site. I’m not sure they would have been much better than what we are currently stuck with. I vowed to never again waste my vote on a candidate who doesn’t deserve it. No more communist or communist lite!
My candidate of choice is not Trump, although at this point I can not see any reason why I wouldn’t vote for him in the general election. Like I said previously, if not for Donald Trump the candidate with the most money would be in the lead. I think most of us can agree...NO more Bushs! Also, if not for Trump the media would be choosing the campaign issues. It would probably be another vagina election. Instead, they are being forced to talk about immigration, both legal and illegal, which is the biggest threat to our national security. I don’t know if Trump is serious about this campaign but I am seriously grateful we have someone like Donald Trump to shake things up.
I kind of like how Trump doesn’t do what “the media” wants him to do.
Trump has earned all his money and he thinks very, very carefully how he spends it. He thinks like a business owner. The other candidates are used to begging for their money and when they run out they beg for more.
Trump is the only one not playing that game. What an idiot this writer is.
They all want their share of the campaign loot and he isn’t giving it to them.
Point I made is the business gets to write off the cost as an expense. Even though Trump pays the business as a personal political expense, he gets it back through profits of the business.
