Ahhh....as they say on the commericals: That’s not how this works. That’s not how any of this works.
The networks and rating services do not know what channel your TV is tuned to. Unless you are downloading an “on demand” show or watching pay-per-view.
Really. I’ve built head ends (where the magic cable signals come from) and trust me...they don’t watch who is watching.
They DO put boxes in homes where they test stuff. They still do diaries.
But, no...the cable company has better things to do than figure out who is watching Fox or MSNBC.
Do you know where they get their rating number fox always boast about, other stations too? I always heard they know how many are watching, but not who.
