Criminal defense lawyers file complaint against JP in Twin Peaks cases
“The Texas Criminal Defense Lawyers Association filed a judicial complaint against Justice of the Peace W.H. “Pete” Peterson on Thursday, saying the 3,000-member group is “astounded” by the way the judge handled setting bonds for 177 bikers after the deadly May 17 Twin Peaks shootout.”
Absent a retraction and sincere apology, I think every motorcyclist and motorcycle club member should boycott the The Irresponsible Rebel to send a clear message that this type of unethical reporting will not be tolerated or embraced by the motorcycling community. Nothing released by this source can be assumed to be accurate, thorough, or informed, based on this incident. The Irresponsible Rebel has thus far refused to apologize for this wrong. Ego and ignorance have no place in the fight for freedom against discrimination and profiling targeting motorcyclists nationwide. The Irresponsible Rebel should be considered nothing more than low standard tabloid journalism until the cannons of ethical journalism are embraced and false and damaging statements are retracted.
33 Bikers Fight Gag Order in Waco Biker Shooting
Thirty-three bikers are asking that a gag order imposed in a case connected to a Texas shootout in which nine bikers were killed be lifted.
The bikers filed a “friend of the court” brief Friday in support of the motion filed by an attorney for Matthew Clendennen, the only person among 177 arrested after the shooting who has filed a lawsuit.
