"What is the white area?"

Styrofoam? Eggshell of Gamara? Ice? CO2? Pluto is actually an Old White Guy? A fiendishly clever paint job and they are still working on the grey shutters?

I'm going to go with it's really the giant eyeball of a race far different from our own, that this world is being watched, keenly and closely, by intelligences greater than man's and yet as mortal as his own; that as men busy themselves about their various concerns they are scrutinized and studied, perhaps almost as narrowly as a man with a microscope might scrutinize the transient creatures that swarm and multiply in a drop of water.”

This is the only part that projects into out universe...

I thought they were saying nitrogen ice. At any rate nitrogen ice was prominent in the discussions. It’s funny because we always think of liquid nitrogen as the epitome of cold ( putting aside liquid hydrogen and helium. ) I had honestly never given a thought to nitrogen ice before this, but it’s not really so much colder than liquid nitrogen. That’s awful cold though, for just sitting out in the back yard.

At these temperatures water ice is like granite, and in fact they’re saying the mountains may be water ice.

Jackson Pollock was a media created fraud.

His so called paintings looked like a badly painted bathroom wall.

Wish I was there, though I’d prefer one of the Galilean moons of Jupiter; or own Moon(more Sunlight) - better view.

I don't think Pluto is far enough away.

Now, if we let your average leftist drive, what are the chances they would orbit into the Sun, or wander, out of fuel, between the stars?

Sorry, the thought makes me laugh...

Ya' know, we played with liquid N2 in college. The stuff we got in the Styrofoam cup was a faint blue. I recall the sky here being blue because of the 70% of Nitrogen.

You don't suppose, and I'm just spit balling here...?

Pluto is a dwarf planet. It doesn’t orbit a planet so it can’t be a moon.

This is all categorical, or rhetorical, reasoning. What is a “planet” ? A “wandering” star, a purely subjective category. So how is that we call the earth a planet? And if we are that flexible, how is it that we are suddenly such grammarians?

I was asking why can’t our moon be called a planet since it’s larger than Pluto ... was being humorous, but then ....

It’s not reasoning. It’s definitions.

It’s awfully bright, that far from the sun.

Perhaps the spacecraft has a flash on the camera?
