I am for Cruz, but if he doesn't make it, I think Rubio might be the best bet overall, in terms of a balance of conservatism, competence, and electability. You'll bring up the immigration issue, but let's see if he can shore up that position satisfactorily. In other respects, I think he's got a lot going for him.
Ugh—Rubio looks, sounds, and speaks like a junior in college. Along with his hideous immigration allegiance and position, he has a very poor tax plan. I wouldn’t at all trust his “shoring up his position” on it at this point.
Trump could well blow it, but he hasn’t yet. He actually polls better with independents and moderates and minorities than the usual “electable” warm mush the GOPe tries to sell us.
