Cycling kills.

In Colorado, it seemed like a fatality a week. Usually fit, in their prime persons, trying to combine thrill with exercising. I will stick to hiking, but not in narrow canyons.

Sympathy to MKH and their children. I am sure her support network is huge.

Having ridden both bicycles and motorcycles, I’ll say something a lot of people don’t know. A fit, skilled bicycle rider can often achieve motorcycle speeds. At those speeds the bicycle rider will risk serious or fatal injury far more than the motorcyclist because the bicycle is less capable of really high speeds and it’s rider just cannot wear the heavy protective gear the motorcyclist wears.
