So... What I'm curious about is, what plan for gun control do they have, that would have prevented this shooting?

There is no plan, other than completely banning private gun ownership, that would prevent this type of shooting.

Most of the liberals I know, argue that the war on drugs has been ineffective, and that drugs need to be legalized in order to end drug violence.

What do they think will happen if guns become illegal?! They have already claimed that the border can't be closed. If that's true, and the border can't be closed, how do they plan on keeping illegal guns out of the hands of criminals?
