This guy has no business being a cop

I disagree. This shows the public exactly why cops shoot "unarmed" people. He took one for the team. Maybe now the media (if they have *any* intelligence whatsoever) will give the benefit of the doubt to the cop.

And yes--I do know they have no intelligence. But maybe the public does

If by “took one for the team”, you meant “let a violet felon gain control and use of his firearm”, then yes.

you are 100% correct in that it shows WHY a cop can and should shoot an unarmed aggressive suspect

And that’s what he should have done.
