You can research “charities” rates....my sister frequented a food bank..what a crock...she tried to give ME stuff saying they would push excess on people...plus.if you knew the truth about a lot of them you’d change your mind. I’ll give to a good charity before a food bank. I’m all for giving to the TRULY NEEDY...not the users.
The food bank I give to is in a mid sized city and is run by a church. All the workers there are volunteers and it’s only open one morning a week. I’ve seen the people standing in line. They sure look like they need it. But it doesn’t make any difference.
Jesus said to give to the needy. He didn’t say to hang around and make sure they do the right thing. With that said there are charities that I’ve learned too much about and I know they’re frauds.
I’ve learned the best way is to ask God to show me where He wants me to give. Just recently my wife and I have become able to give. For a few years we didn’t have anything to give. We missed giving. But that’s just us.
