I thought Rush deflected this issue pretty well.
"For example, I've got a bunch of e-mails from people over the weekend saying, "You better deal with Erickson! If you don't deal with Erickson, then you're not up to snuff." "What do you mean, 'Deal with Erickson?'" I wrote. "You better! You know, you can't let this go." Let me tell you something, folks. I have had a policy for I don't know how long: Right or wrong, good or bad, I do not purposely try to destroy people on my team.
Now, if they do that themselves, fine. Nothing I can do about it."

You are right, very annoying.
You are right, very annoying.
Well, thanks for civil discourse....and for explaining your ideas...but your refutation of point A is not valid....his personality may not impact you but it’s part of the bigger picture and to deny that would be really to miss the point....and Ann Coulter is often wrong. Obama Care is coming back full force and will be an equal issue over all....and Trump is weak on that issue..and you miss the point on Rand paul....it won’t help Rand, but it will end up helping Cruz and hurting Trump too. So will the planned parenthood gaffe.
“Well, thanks for civil discourse” after you label me with a “childish understanding”?
I am no expert on Ann Coulter, but she just repeats what quite a few of us have been saying for a long time, and quite a few authors - Pat Buchanan, Victor Davis Hanson, and Mark Levin — just to name a few. No nation on earth can assimilate, YEARLY, a million plus LEGAL immigrants, ALL from totally different cultures, and survive. Obama knows that and that explains his actions. You notice illegal immigration has been covered over for about ten years by asserting the famous “eleven million”. It is closer to thirty million.
>> Back in the mid-90s, Chris Matthews was a different man <<
Yes, I remember well. Once when there was a three-way or four-way race (Bush-Algore-Nader-Buchanan???), Matthews indicated that he, his wife and his son all voted differently. He hinted strongly that his wife went with Algore and his son with Nader. He was extremely coy about his own vote, but his discussion seen to imply that he had supported GWB.
And by the way, his wife is now running for Congress from the most “hoity-toity” Maryland suburbs of DC. She wants to replace left wing darling Chris Van Hollen. I’d say it’s anybody’s guess if she’d turn out to be worse than Van Hollen (a big task!) or about the same.
He subs for Mark Levin at times, too. Who cares. It’s Trump who isn’t the conservative.
>> my theory: . . . Rush wants some great guest hosts (Steyn) and some poor ones (Belling and Davis) - so that he keeps ratings up, but also to demonstrate by comparison that he’s still way ahead <<
Not bad. Sorta like Goldilocks and the porridge that was not too hot, not too cold!
Anyway, I seem to recall an instance many years ago when Rush was “joking” about not wanting guest hosts who were so good that they’d show him up. Maybe not a joke? And maybe he eventually gained enough self-confidence that he wouldn’t feel threatened by somebody as terrific as Steyn?
he wouldn’t feel threatened by Steyn, because for all of Steyn’s brilliance and humor....I don’t think Steyn would wear well long term.
Ann has been totally wrong on her long range projections...Christie....then Romney....etc.
She’s funny and talented, but she’s isolated and she’s not got a good long range prediction record at all. She’s much better with history than the future.
I listened to his daily show for a years, and was impressed by his consistency. (Like Prager).
to each his own I guess...the only thing I found consistent with Mark Davis is that I couldn’t change channels quick enough upon hearing him.
I took notes while listening to Barry Farber. To each his own. ;-)
Barry has interviewed me a few times......I bet in his day he was good.
Ditto
Rove also subbed in the past.
If enough people say they won’t listen if EE subs, Rush will notice.
He owes more loyality to his listeners than he does to Erika.
Why should I be concerned about what some guy named Erickson has to say about any candidate? Other than listening to him sitting in for Rush on rare occasions, that's his only claim to fame and I would have never known about him otherwise.........
That would be you what? The guy who lives their life within a political bubble at the exclusion of everything else?
If that works for you, who am I to judge...........
