Surgeon General is a practically useless position for a man of his talents. I’d put him in charge of overhauling Obamacare — Head of Health and Human services.

After someone has had an outstanding career in pediatric neurosurgery, can any government administrative job NOT be beneath his talent level and allow except maybe the presidency itself?

Aside from Surgeon General, one other post in the current federal bureaucracy that might be appropriate is Secretary of Veterans Affairs (much of that department involves administration of the currently disastrous VA hospital system). Straightening that mess out will save lives. Dr. Carson has hospital administrative experience at Johns Hopkins.

He could also be appointed to a special position coordinating the dismantling of Obamacare.
