One thing that would be cool, if they could fix it, is to allow you to make the title bar real distinct. Win7, at least in my enterprise installation, doesn't let you. In Win 3.1, I could make a red-to-yellow gradient on the active window title bar, where it says the application program name or the file title. Then you could easily see which is the active window.

To get gradient colored title bars in Win 7:
1. Right-click on desktop, Personalize, Window Color and Appearance
2. Disable transparency and set color intensity to max
3. Click on Advanced appearance settings. You'll get the old Windows-XP Window Color and Appearance dialog.
4. Adjust the gradient for the title bars the way you used to (Select 3D objects in the drop down) and make the inactive and active title bars very distinct.
