...A 2014 study conducted by Princeton and Northwestern University concluded that the U.S. government does not represent the majority of American citizens. Instead, the study found that the government is ruled by the rich and powerful, or the so-called economic elite. Moreover, the researchers concluded that policies enacted by this governmental elite nearly always favor special interests and lobbying groups. In other words, we are being ruled by an oligarchy disguised as a democracy, and arguably on our way towards fascisma form of government where private corporate interests rule, money calls the shots, and the people are seen as mere subjects to be controlled. Oblivious to what lies ahead, weve been manipulated into believing that if we continue to consume, obey, and have faith, things will work out. But thats never been true of emerging regimes. And by the time we feel the hammer coming down upon us, it will be too late.

I’m reading Bill Browder’s “Red Notice” right now.
Fits in exactly.
Why can’t you simply sue a SC Justice or a Congressman or a President for violating their oath of office?
Mr. Stupid Nobody esq.
Immigration is a prime example. Why are we importing 1.1 million legal permanent immigrants a year along with 640,000 guest workers a year while we have the lowest labor participation rates in 38 years. Wages are declining because we have a surplus of labor. Business privatizes the profits and socializes the costs.
Nomenklatura.
Rowdy Rodney Piper died last week. rip
[We have opportunity to participate in America business as a basis of structure for creating, developing and offering products/services, of various types/kinds. It is up to the public whether or not the products/ services, are good, worthy of obtaining and using]
This is true, and if you can find a niche market you may be successful. However, large businesses with all the dough, like lifetime politicians with their lobbyist money, have the distinct advantage in the marketplace.
Think of how WalMart has affected local economies. They conspire with local politicians to gain property tax advantages and other perks and then drive small businesses out of the market.
Look at the complexion of America. Regional differences are fading due to the invasion of corporate retailers, restaurants, etc.
Your freedoms as a small business person are eroding every day; look at all the government rules and regulations. Big business and big government are colluding to pick the American tax payer’s pocket book. I’m a great believer in capitalism, but we don’t have that any more. Big business takes a bet and wins whether their decisions are good or not - look at Wall Street. Traders make bad bets and never give their bonuses back. The capitalist puts up capital, risks it, if they market likes what they do, they win, but that’s not the system we have now, unfortunately.
Thanks for this. I went on YouTube and found the full movie (They Live) in HD here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BMym1-uf5eI
The illegal alien construction worker scene in particular was way way ahead of its time.
At no time since it’s founding has America been a Democracy. It is a Republic.
Those confuse these have an agenda in mind: to make us a democracy, which would be terrible for all but the elitists.
Think USSR
Some of these are state created rules and regulations. Choose wisely. Or become vocal and oppose what is oppressive and unfair. Intolerance happens with power.
MOVE! to another state. No one was ever told it would be easy. God bless.
We owned a business until January of this year which required hiring people to do very hard physical labor. The pay is excellent because of the skill level involved. We would train the prospect and assist them in obtaining the necessary license.
We interviewed many US-born and educated young men; however, they seemed to be unable to grasp that after a training period they would make a fine income. They expected immediate gratification. They had some sort of unrealistic expectation that they should immediately make the high income.
They believe what has become a false narrative and that is that getting an education means they will automatically waltz into a high-paying job. Educators do them a disservice.
Our last hire was a legal Mexican immigrant. Willing to work hard, reliable, honest and appreciative. He still expresses appreciation to us for the opportunity we gave him. I do not see this attitude in many of our spoiled children.

We don't need those numbers period. Immigrants are taking American jobs and depressing wages. We need to reduce legal immigration substantially to at most 300,000 a year.
Anecdotal information does not reflect the current reality. We have a surplus of labor, which depresses and reduces wages. There are no jobs Americans won’t do.

Agreed. Local politicians need to become aware of the results of the advantages and perks given to regional businesses as some are over all harmful. Local politicians are often not businessmen.
