That really surprised me, considering that the 49ers could have done that years ago considering the historical political influence of the LGBT community in San Francisco.

Took my youngish son to a SF game maybe 20 years ago (don’t recall if Giants or Niners) and it was a gay day. They unfurled the damnable AIDS quilt on the field and had a lot of yammering about those who died. I think it was the most disgusting day of my life. SF sports teams have been doing this crap for years. Imagine having to make up some lie to tell your son about what was going on. Damn their hides.
