You’re right, but the answer is not to flee. Look, the country is in its final stages of complete death. Franco and Pinochet showed us what can be achieved when the right gets organized and understands that democracy never defeated the left. We just need the right opportunity
I’ve always been fascinated by the anti-Pinochet propaganda. Where Castro directly killed over 10,000 to secure his regime and had another 100,000 die off trying to leave, Pinochet supporters racked up between 3000-6000 dead during a period where there was guerilla warfare. Then he willingly gave up his power once the leftist threat to Chile had passed.
That he’s been reviled as a monster always struck me as amazingly good left-wing propaganda.
