The real brilliance of Our Lord shines through millenia. When He said these things it wasn’t time to confront Herod. So He confronted him “elliptically”. Parabollicaly. Isn’t it curious that mathematicians credit ellipses and their math to “the Nazarene?”. Anyway, His brilliance transcended the translation of King James as well. So these “revolutionary” messages are there but “hidden”.
Funny, here I am teaching Sunday School on FreeRepublic. Next week, “you could make that mountain fly away to the bottom of the sea.”
Consider it homework. What “mountain” was he talking about? Hint: “I do not want my people to have kings.”
you assume public schools are about education. Without that certificate, you’ll never see the inside of a class room.
It’s one of the shames of our public system...the fact that retired, or semi retired business owners or other professionals - many of whom would love to teach some - are not allowed to.
Yep, turn the other cheek is a directive. However, I think that more in interpersonal dealings, not necessarily when life or limb is at stake.
When asked “What would Jesus do”, remember, braiding some cords and driving the unrighteous out/away is clearly an option.
