On the subject of documentaries, I really, really enjoyed a Netflix series on World War I (I think it was called “14 Diaries”). It’s a European import, and it definitely tells the story from a different, non-US perspective. And it’s a very absorbing story about real people. I learned a great deal from it.

There IS some very good TV available, if you wade past the junk.
