Roberts did not cast the deciding vote on ObamaCare - it was a 6-3 decision.

Justice Kennedy cast the deciding swing vote and as the swing vote he would have been given the power of the actual writing the decision.

Roberts could have cast a futile and inconsequential vote against the case to make it a 5-4 vote

However, by voting with the majority, as Chief Justice, Roberts had the power to control much of the actual content of went into the written decision.

SCOTUS ObamaCare decision was a horrible decision, but it would have been much, much worse and even more overreaching if Roberts had not voted with the majority and had some control over the drafting of the decision and Kennedy was the go to guy with power to write the ObamaCare decision, as we see in Kennedy's drafting of the Gay Marriage decision.

As an added bonus, with Roberts handling the decision, it freed Justice Scalia up to write the dissent instead of Roberts

I see Roberts vote for Obama Care as tactical maneuver to allow him to use his Chief Justice position have influence on writing of the actual content of the ObamaCare decision which is actually a very important factor.

Or maybe the other way around. In any case, Roberts has no principles and even less respect for the Constitution. He is corrupt and totally unprincipled, and we need to find out what they have on him so we can expose it and render it (and him) useless.

Roberts decision makes him out to be an idiot who shouldn’t have been passed on to 5th Grade.

Roberts was, however, the swing vote in the 5-4 decision in 2012 to uphold Obamacare in the original challenge to the law. He could have struck it down then, but chose not to. Therefore, he is directly responsible for this case having had to come up at all.

How In the world will it be ‘important’? The damage is done- it’s now law and will never be undone- the left will NEVER allow it- the people who now think it is a RIGHT will NEVER allow it- this can never be reversed without causing massive damage to the GOP- it now doesn’t mater what Roberts says-
