I see similarities between the War of Gog/Magog (Ezekiel 38-39) and the prayer of Psalm 83. Thus it would place it before the rapture.
Was in a discussion of this topic last night at dinner. It looks a lot like the annihilation of the blood-lusting attackers of Israel and accompanying devastation is what ushers the man of sin onto the global scene as Peacemaker bringing surviving mid-East islamics and Israel to a peace agreement which allows Israel to declare ‘peace and safety for seven years’. According to the prophecy offered in 1217 AD (a German Rabbi of great devotion, Rabbi Judah ben Samuel, was given a vision from Elijah regarding the city of Jerusalem) the year 2017 is the year the seven year treaty will be signed.
