I remember, in the early 60’s, my mom driving around a right-turn corner and my little brother falling out of the back seat of the car. No safety belts and a handle that if you just leaned on it would open the door. Never mind, he was ok. Walking the 5 blocks to grade school alone because my older brother wouldn't be caught dead walking with his little sister. Going to the city pool all day every day in the summer and having no adult supervision except the teenage lifeguards. What a lovely childhood it was!

And I fell off the running board of our car while delivering newspapers.

*lol* I fell out of our family car once too, it was a pink Rambler, we all loved that car! I got a bit scraped up but was otherwise fine, climbed back in and went to the laundromat with mom & some lady there sprayed Bactine or something on the scrapes which hurt worse than the initial falling out part. *sigh*
