False.

PC653, PC12020 and PC17235 make no mention of it.

Much of California has no limits on blade length however.
Depends what County or City.

I can’t find a reference to it either. Darn, it sounded so “California” logical.

But after wading into all the nuances of CA knife laws, it became obvious that it is very easy to violate the law. Ludicrously complicated. And probably riddled with contradictions.

The state legislature is nothing more than an upscale insane asylum.

OK, so I went back to figure this out & now I know where I got that assumption.

My daughter used to be with SFPD. I got the info from her, but I slightly misunderstood. So, when I asked her again she said that they were told that if a person had one arm or one hand or the use of only one, that a knife violation of this sort was to be ignored (unless that person was a genuine threat of some sort). She said she didn’t know whether that meant the prosecutors didn’t want to mess with it, or that her superiors didn’t.
