Its Official, I have all my eggs in the Stannis Baratheon Basket.
He is the only one who has any sense.
MY CONJECTURE ONLY! I HAVE NO PROOF OTHER THAN WHAT I HAVE SEEN AND THE PREVIEW FOR THE NEXT EPISODE
Me thinks That one A hole Nights Watch guy who doesn't like Jon Snow is going to stage a little coup and when Jon Snow comes back with the wildling Army he is going to find himself without a Command and go Link up with Stannis (which is what he SHOULD have done in the first place)
Arya keeps drinking that Giant Vat of Magic Kool-Aid.
I do no Approve of Jamie's Plan to go to Dorne, it is a silly place.
Cearsi's plan to Eff over the Tryell's is going to Backfire Big Time now that Emma Peel is back in town, Cearsi is going to try and off Margaery, Loras and their Dad and is going to go against her spectacularly with those Religious People, because she is the most sinful of all.
Finally, All that Character development of Sansa over the past three seasons have gone right window, and landed right next to Bran (ha ha, some dark humor)
So, Sansa is back to being a victim.
Again.
With so say or Resistance in how her life turns out..... >:(
So much for being the player that she was promised to be.
The ending was 50 Shades of *****d Up!
They have veered mightily from the books in regards to Sansa. I have no idea how they’ll entangle it. However I always thought Sansa was doomed.
But I have been saying that for Five Seasons Now!
I honestly thought she was going to start being a Player and not a Pawn last season, she started off good this episode, by telling that One B***h who was giving her a Bath that she wouldn't be frightened by her.
That was good, she found her Big Girl Pants.
But that Ending Ruined it..... :'(
Looks like this season will end with cliff-hangers on all of the story arcs like the books are stuck at.
It was a good episode except for the Dorne section, that was cringe worthy.
The House of Black and White continues to be fascinating. Cersei was appropriately smug over her own cleverness and can barely hide it. And Jorah’s expression upon learning his father’s death was heartbreaking.
They sure do kill off the interesting characters and hang onto the duds. If not for Arya and Littlefinger the show would be a bore.
Bring back The Hound!
Maybe it’s just me, but, this season seems to be stalled. It’s like they have material for five great episodes but they had to stretch it out to 10. Like way back when you just added more water to the gravy when you had unexpected guests.
As for the Hound, I suspect we have not seen the end of him.
I also think Theon Greyjoy will be a player again.
I got a laugh out of Tyrion when he was threatened with having his manhood removed, and how they would need to leave it attached to prove it was from a dwarf.
Still a great show.
I'm on the Stannis side as well...but he needs to ditch the red lady.
Was hoping Theon would do one last right thing in his life and save Sansa. That girl can't get a break!
That one line was the best of show!! (about the dwarf manhood)
Game of Thrones “jumped the shark” for me about 3 episodes ago. Seems to me that the writers are confused and not able to pull the threads together.
I like Margery - I hope she is pregnant! That would really mess up Cerci's plans.
I haven't read the books and I might be totally wrong...but I'm starting to think Jon Snow is NOT Ned's son!
Ellaria Sand's (and other Dornians') "accent" is friggin' AWFUL.
It's like an english-speaking person trying to imitate a spanish-speaking person speaking english.
Nor The Mountain.
Our whole family ended up reading the books at around the same time. We had heard that there was going to be a series, lots of talk and expectations about it, so we decided to find out what the books were like. We were hooked immediately.
So, we were all sitting around one evening picking our best characters/kings and my youngest daughter picks Stannis. We were shocked. Stannis? She said that he was the only one who came when called upon for help by the Nights' Watch.
Stannis makes the most sense as king? I would argue that Tyrion and Varys’ conversation a few episodes ago was foreshadowing some power shifts. Tyrion is starkly intellectual, and aside from the unceremonious murder of his father and his whore, his hands are relatively unsullied (pun intended). Bottom line: Stannis rules with an iron fist, and that will only make him so many friends.
I picked up on the Alliser Thorne treachery as well, but I believe the Night’s Watch is split in their allegiances. Jon Snow will do better with the wildlings than he will with the Night’s Watch due to sheer numbers. I don’t think Thorne would be that stupid. However, remember that Tormund demanded ships to sail the wildlings out of the north, and I believe Stannis promised them in return for the wildlings taking lands of the north after the Boltons are conquered and excised from Winterfell.
I think the Arya subplot is one of the most interesting, and I’m curious how it’s going to weave. Arya was too young to have allegiances when her father was murdered, but I don’t believe she’s as impressionable as she’s being portrayed. She has a list of people upon whom she wishes to exact revenge. At some point the Faceless Men are going to ask her to execute someone about whom she cares, and her allegiance to them will falter. Remember she buried the sword her brother made for her instead of dumping it into the water in Braavos. I think this speaks to her loyalties to family vs. allegiance to any one king or company.
And finally, let’s not cast aside Sansa too quickly. She was completely transformed by Baelish, and I have to believe she’s learned a few tricks from him. Sansa is not stupid. She would not be alive if she was.
>>I haven’t read the books and I might be totally wrong...but I’m starting to think Jon Snow is NOT Ned’s son!<<
Rhaegar Targaryen + Lyanna Stark = Jon Snow is the popular theory that I subscribe to.
save for after I catch up on episode which you all are discussing.
