Ted Cruz has come out repeatedly
AGAINST AMNESTY. He also strongly supports securing our borders.
Stop trying to twist up the facts into a lie.

My objection is to what he said about legal immigration - he’s for it, he said. Most people, when they find out that over a million LEGAL immigrants are allowed in, per year, will state that that is excessive. How many times have you heard about the millions of unemployed Americans? Every immigrant that comes over either takes a job from an American or takes taxpayer money. There is no other possibility. I figure Cruz knows that. Just legal immigration alone has transformed America. More legal immigration will do it quicker; if you like your country, you can’t keep your country. Incidentally, I don’t lie. Sometimes, like everyone else, I speculate, but speculation is not lying.

However, that comment is revealing about what he thinks; he is laying the ground work for something, which will probably be amnesty if he gets in.
Actually, that's a much more accurate statement about Walker, given his candidatency-based conversion and his recent support for Amnesty and Open-Borders and Citizenship for Illegals.
Ted has been adamant about no citizenship for Illegals Ever.
Something you won't here out of the mouth of Walker.

Fact is, 90% of the panhandlers I see are white, lots of times near “Now Hiring” signs.

I can’t recall ever spotting a hispanic panhandler either. They are either white or black. Mostly white, come to think of it.
To: 2ndDivisionVet
I lived in Brownsville for a few years, I don’t recall any shortage of Mexican panhandlers. More importantly, the official currency in most stores seemed to be food stamps.
To: 2ndDivisionVet
There’s plenty of Mex in Amarillo.

I haven't either. Have you? Wow, that's going to offend a certain other group.
However panhandling today looks a lot like an EBT card next to a cell phone sitting in a nice SUV.

Wonder if he spends any time outside the Home Depot?

The Home Depot or Lowes crowd that I’m familiar with are
there early each morning looking for a day labor job.

I don't entirely trust Walker's johnny-come-lately conversion on the immigration issue either (too many Republicans become immigration restrictionists in primary election years, only to convert back to open borders advocacy while in office).
However, one thing in Walker's favor is that he's the only likely candidate to even bring up the fact that illegal immigration is only the tip of the iceberg. A lot of the current flood of Third World immigrants came here completely legally, and many who claim to want to see "something" done about illegal immigration really think that the right thing to do is to make it easier for even more people to come here legally.
Again, I'm not sure that I trust Walker, but I'm still glad somebody recognizes that legal immigration is also a major source of cultural, economic, and demographic problems.

Exactly. I live on So. Cal. -Generally Hispanics here are at the Home Depot, Day Labor sites, or selling stuff by the side of the road, or at the parks, or other public areas-They sell flowers , fruit, food, sodas everywhere. If they have minimum-wage jobs combined with 5-10 kids per family (born to teen parents), which seems to be their norm, they're still on the welfare and food stamp dole.
To: momtothree
We have Hispanic panhandlers here too, usually pregnant women. They work the parking lots of strip malls. They don’t carry signs they actually work for it. lol They walk from car to car of people getting out of their cars and ask for money.

We will always be a nation of immigrants. We have always been a nation of immigrants. Those coming here legally are not the issue. They will assimilate. It is those who come here illegally and steal what is not theirs and will never assimilate that are the issue.
It the current laws were actually enforced, both for Illegal and Legal, we would not be having this conversation.

I’m not saying we should end all legal immigration. I’m saying we should be a lot more restrictive of who is allowed in. We shouldn’t be in the business of importing poverty, and we should recognize that some groups of immigrants are much more readily assimilated culturally and socio-economically than others.
To: Veggie Todd
Oh please. You don’t get guys occasionally requesting to be paid in cash?
They’re working, they’re not begging. There’s a difference.
To: HiJinx
“Begging for work?” There’s no such thing. Begging is asking for something for nothing.
I’d call it looking for work. Which is a righteous pursuit.
To: ziravan
The Hispanic community at large has a culture that fits in much better with Republicans than democrats.Poverty, illiteracy, gang activity, and teen pregnancy fit in much better with Republicans?
California was once a paradise. Then it became an extension of Mexico and turned into a hellhole.
