My last/final project was a frame off on a 79 F250 Camper Special 4x4. Only regret was not putting a Diesel back into it for SHTF reasons. But if gas can be found, there’s not a part of the desert it won’t go. Fast. Never was a boat guy. But I totally get the logic.
