The ATF will be let off the hook by broadening the "sporting purposes" language and legislatively negating their own determination that millions of heretofore legal pistol-grip shotguns produced over the past decades by companies like Mossberg are "destructive devices."

News like this reinforce why I let my NRA membership lapse.

Deals made in the backroom are nearly always bad. What happened to simply enforcing the 2nd Amendment--no restrictions for legal citizens who are otherwise not felons or mentally incompetent or whatever the appropriate language. Constitutional ownership and carry, concealed or not, should be the rule of the day--nationwide. Anything less is infringing on our rights. Why can I not go to DC or New York, why can't someone in New York share the same rights as I have in elsewhere in the US?
