“Muffler” is far more accurate than “silencer”, and the term “silencer” is so stigmatized, it makes good sense.

“and the term “silencer” is so stigmatized, it makes good sense.”

Sure if you are afraid of being Politically Incorrect then
mufflers your word. I myself could care less whats
“stigmatized” by the PC fools. Silencer is what it’s always
been and will always be.

A muffler (silencer in British English, or back box in Irish English) is a device for reducing the amount of noise emitted by the exhaust of an internal combustion engine.

Silencer: Suppressor, a device attached to or part of the barrel of a firearm which reduces the amount of noise and flash.

Why do liberals always want to change the meaning of words
and the names of things?
