Mr. Duvall is right about one thing, the GOP is a mess. Mixing religion and politics can be dangerous, is it more so than mixing CELEBRITIES and politics?

So he is getting positive press because he is saying the GOP is not enough like democrats.

Tell him not to worry about it. According to all the experts, the reason the Repubs have been losing the WH is because conservatives and especially the religious right have not been voting.

“the GOPs stance on birth control and religion is a problem”
As far as I know, the GOP has no stance on birth control OR religion, so what the heck is he talking about?

He told the Daily Beast that the GOPs stance on birth control and religion is a problem I agree 100%.

Absolutely love Duvall’s body of work. Do not give a damn what his political opinion is.

No, the problem is the state messing with religion where it has no business. But religion and godly values in the state? That’s a good thing as our carved stone monuments in D.C give testimony. Wish people could get this right.

The DemocRATS have their own church, Leftist Environmentalism, complete with sacraments - carbon offsets and abortion.

we will keep having Obama’s in the White House because old men like Duvall are fixated on abortion.

Obviously, Mr. Duvall’s better days are behind him. He is entitled to his opinion, but no more so than any non-celebrity voter.
To: Impala64ssa
Well, if Duvall is right, please tell us all how a person’s world view would NOT impact their behavior and lawmaking sensibilities? To me, his comment is untenable. I could not in any way, shape or form, encourage abortion precisely BECAUSE I understand that the Scriptures tell us man is made in God’s image and murder is wrong. Based upon the animal kingdom, eating other organisms is perfectly all right. So, exactly upon what basis would Duvall propose any particular law?
To: Impala64ssa
Also, religion and politics should be completely separate. Like Math and Science should be completely separate.

My politics is grounded by my faith. If Duvall does not understand that at his age there is no hope for him.

Here is the problem when you say keep religion out of politics.. it assume a postion is only supported by a religious reason and not a rational reason.. that is a logical fallacy.......most all religions prohibit murder.. but does that mean prohibiting murder is the goverment taking a religious position?...
It is valid to strip away the religious overlay on any given position .. but once you do you still have to honest enough to examine the position on it own reason..the reason for prohibition on abortion and gay marriage stand on their own without religion just as prohibition on murder does... if your intellectually honest

He’s wrong. You cannot expect a moral person to separate who they are from who they are.
You are either a moral person who votes morally, or you are a fractured person who has no morality.
