School food has sucked since I was a kid. It’s government food, fer cryin’ out loud.

There was nothing like biting lengthwise into a tomato needle, a rolled-up, dried tomato skin in American Chop Suey (Wednesdays).

Make Michelle and the government bureaucrats eat this crap.

I graduated from HS in 1972. Back then, whenever they had pizza for lunch I’d say it wasn’t a cheese pizza and it wasn’t a peperoni pizza. It was a salt pizza. That’s what it tasted like to me.

The school lunches in the 60’s and 70’s were great. In Houma, Louisiana back then, the cooks were all good old Cajun and Creole ladies. Been around the world, nobody cooks as good as a real Cajun or Creole mom. Since I was a polite young lad who always said please and thank you, I always got extra food. The cooks also would save me chocolate milk or treats. After I finished eating, I would always praise their cooking. My friends always wondered why the cooks gave me so much food. I told my friends that I was related to one of the cooks (my Aunt Rose was one of the cooks),but they never caught on. I was amazed that so many of the students back then were not grateful for the school lunches.
