that’s originally what I wanted to do, hook a small personal DVD player up using just the red white tallow cables, as needed for viewing DVD’s, but we bought a full DVD/VCR combo instead, and found out it won’t play unless we have the RF modulator hooked up as well- not sure why the RF modulator is needed because the TV has red/white/yellow connections on it s well as S-Video connection- should be able to just hook directly from DVD to TV- but when I try- it simply won’t play the DVD- the only way it will play is if I use the modulator for some reason

I wasn't familiar with RF Modulators, so looked them up. Never used one. I know I tried to connect the DVD player to the TV with an S-Video cable, but the only way I could get it to work properly was using the yellow, red, and white cables.

Is there any customer support offered by phone for the DVD/VCR? If so, maybe they could help you with connecting them up. Good luck.
