This is why Virginia has been trending Democrat the last few election cycles. You have all of these parasites in Northern Virginia living off the government gravy train.
And the wealthier they are and the higher they go in the gubmit bureaucracy, the bluer they vote. Having grown up in the DC burbs in the 50s surrounded by Republicans and Christians, when everyone referred to the Capital as “a sleepy Southern town” and you could just drive in and find parking anywhere, the difference in civic life is startling, and saddening.
Then he needs to ask for a raise, and ditch the Beemer for a used Toyota.
That, and the MAGIC! of large chunks of Red Fairfax, Alexandria, and Arlington not reporting votes until ALL the other votes are in, and, suddenly, the Democrat pulls ahead. . .
Would it cost more to park a beemer? Could be insurance...
They are feasting off our taxes and we are paying these vultures.

Cecil?
Insurance and maintenance/repairs, as well as the lifestyle implications -- who is the driver trying to impress? When you take a woman out in a beemer, you feel more obligated to that premium gasoline and carwash, that dinner in a tablecloth restaurant rather than at a diner, and that expensive bottle of wine. Driving a Honda or Toyota makes the driver feel more settled down and thrifty.
Harford.
I’m in Cecil.
The only county where you have to pay to get home at night.
Sure thing, AW. Which one would *you* want to date. The one with the Beemer or the one in that old Honda Civic?
Be honest now... ;-)
After I posted, I said, “Duh! Harford!” But, unfortunately, we don’t have the “edit” function here on FR.
Well, howdy, neighbor, from beautiful Kent County.
The one with the old Honda Civic.
And money saved and invested instead of wasted on a showy car.
When I toured DC in 2010, it looked so prosperous, nothing like the midwest where I live. All the boys have 1000 dollar suits, and the girls 500 dollar purses, shoes, and dresses.
The taxpayers (and the money creators) keep the beltway folks nicely nourished.
Okay,
Who pays for dinner?
I think you are taking a general discussion of the kind of person who saves and spends wisely versus a person who says they are broke but drives a beemer, and are trying to make it personal. I’d rather not play, thanks.
