Round 3 voting ended tonight, but we have a tie of 9-to-9 for these songs!
PLEASE cast a vote for either of these tunes; I will put the deadline as 6:00 pm Eastern TOMORROW, MONDAY Feb 16. (BTW, you are entitled to change your mind!)
Then we will (hopefully) continue our play-offs for the best song of the '80s! Down to the Sweet 16 with the Great 8 pairs next!

I loved the 80’s! My pick would be Every Breath You Take... the original creepy, stalker song!
To: the OlLine Rebel
“Every Breath You Take” should be disqualified as the tune is an obvious ripoff of Leo Sayer’s “I Love You More Than I Can Say”. If we want to stick with 83, throw in “Flashdance” as. Replacement.

After watching a brief part of this year’s Grammy Awards, all I can say is the music of the early 80’s is sheer genius by comparison.

Gotta go with “Every Breath You Take”.
Best stalker song ever!

Land Down Under. The Police were overrated and over-played.

(What is it with 1983? No one seems to be able to separate the songs!)Speaking as someone who grew up in the 1980s, it was hands down the best year for pop music, ever.
My vote is for :
#1 1983 "Every Breath You Take" Police
