Where are you, country? Why cant I find you? Why have you gone away?
Adapting Cindy Lous song about the loss of Christmas spirit in Whoville expresses the sadness for what as been lost in my country.
When I was a young boy in the small town of Piedmont, Missouri, the local physician, Doc Jones, would come to your house if you were sick. People paid him in cash, or perhaps some other goods. No one imagined they had a right to have someone else pay Doc Jones. It was their solemn duty, part of leading a responsible and moral life. People earned their living, to rely on charity a character stain to be avoided at all costs.
The personal responsibility of those days has become a distant memory. Now it is called fair for much of the population to live at the expense of the rest. We are informed that some are entitled to have the wealth of others redistributed to them. Anyone daring to object to being a serf of the statist elite is called radical, and accused of trying to repeal the 20th century. Sometimes, having gone down the wrong path, the only way out is to turn back. If that is repeal, so be it.
The countrys current moral inversion is illustrated by two recent TV interviews. In the first, the individual talks about how her health insurance is cheaper with an Obamacare subsidy, without a trace of embarrassment, as if the money, instead of being forced from someone else without their consent, came from Baracks private stash or flowed from some eternal mountain spring....

The history of the U.S. actually shows a country that worked hard to improve the lives of everybody while eventually shedding many unjust laws. For more than one hundred years many millions of people from other countries have been streaming to the U.S. to try and live in this "awful" country. Now why is that? So they can experience homosexual marriage. Not hardly.
America has been the land of opportunity since its founding and the first country where a common man could rise to the top of the heap. Now the libs and leftists want to turn us into some sort of Sweden west. I refuse to submit quietly.
What I see is apathy. People grouse about how things are, but don’t do a single thing besides that. Action is needed, but everybody thinks they don’t have the time.somebody else will have to do it. These are the people who do see a need. The other side are those who don’t see anything wrong, because this whole thing has been incrementally forced upon us. Nobody would believe you years ago, and now that it is here, nobody wants to do anything about it. The two youngest generations don’t have any other experiences except for what is today’s norm. They don’t understand what has been lost because they never saw what freedom was.
The “great” foundations, the clergy of most churches, the two main political parties, the resources of the super-wealthy, and every other great power of the earth, are all organized on the side of evil. There is no comparable set of powers organized to defend life, liberty, or property. Although they are many times more generous with the poor and needy, “conservatives” are unbelievably disorganized and stingy in comparison, when it comes to defending the good.
What happened is Kennedy got killed. LBJ won all but 6 states in 1964 and the Democrats took control of the Eighty-ninth Congress with a 68-32 margin in the Senate and a 295-140 margin in the House. Kennedy’s New Frontier programs got dusted-off and given new life as the Great Society that created the entitlement culture and generational dependency on government. How much the political climate shifted as a result of the assassination is impossible to tell but I believe it was a major factor in the watershed election of 1964.
What killed America was single females voting in large numbers. INSTANT DEATH TO ANY COUNTRY.
But having a cool black president, who happens to be a raging statist, made a lot of people feel groovy.
That is the stupidest thing I have read in a long long time
We turned away from God.
