Actually, I liked C-rations! Too far from the chow hall at U-tapao so I ate c rats out of the BX annex.
I could fix them up will with a Tabasco on a Sterno stove and ate well.

Back about 1965 my buddy across the street showed me his dad's footlocker from WW2, and I recall some funky-looking C-rations that were not as scary as that sandwich.
