They already have to deal with the fact that this girl forced them to kill her via her deadly actions.

Ok, I'm going to say it: we are doing to the police exactly what we are doing to the hero snipers and have done to the other heros in Viet Nam, Iraq and Afghanistan - politicians are dictating the rules of engagement instead of trusting the professionals to do their jobs! And the results will be exactly the same - unnecessary loss of American lives.

There is nothing wrong with the law in this case.

She attacked them with deadly force, they defended themselves with deadly force.

What was unnecessary was HER actions.

Huh? Seems like just the opposite. Cops get to shoot at the slightest provocation and the soldiers are handcuffed by the ROE. It should be the other way around. Remember, they are PEACE officers not soldiers. You want a military response to these kinds of situations where civilians are involved? This is what you'll get - unnecessary loss of American lives.
