As I write this article, the ancient city of Sodom is being excavated on the northeast tip of the Dead Sea in Jordan. The Site is called the Tell el-Hammam Excavation Project, led by Dr. Steven Collins of Trinity Southwest University, College of Archaeology.

The excavation project has uncovered evidence of an advanced society with Greek architecture, art, and an advanced economy. There is also evidence of a cataclysmic event, similar to a nuclear type explosion, that leveled the city at one point in its history. After the cataclysmic event, perhaps the most significant finding is the relation of Sodom to the Minoan Greek Civilization where pederasty was practiced (similar to Homosexual Adoption).
Since 2000, the number of gay couples that are adopting children in the U.S. has risen significantly, according to census data. Statistics from 2009 show that about 19 percent of same-sex couples claimed they had adopted a child on their forms and this number is growing significantly every year. Homosexual adoption is now a reality on the ground all across the United States. Even President Barack Obama has weighed in as an outspoken supporter homosexual adoption.
As more and more states legalize homosexual marriage, and with hundreds of thousands of children now on the waiting list for adoption in the U.S., pressure continues to build for more and more homosexuals to adopt. According to The Daily Mail, Bryan Samuels, commissioner for the Administration on Children, Youth and Families, recently said, “The child welfare system has come to understand that placing a child in a gay or lesbian family is no greater risk than placing them in a heterosexual family.”
However, the Bible is clear in its stance on Homosexuality (sodomy) and Homosexual marriage. Throughout the Bible Homosexual behavior and practice is forbidden as a sin against God Himself (Lev 18:22, Lev 20:13, 1 Cor 6:9-10) and breaks the everlasting covenant that God established with man in Genesis 2 & 9, where God told man to leave his father and mother and cleave to his wife, and then to be fruitful and multiply on the earth. This condemnation extends all the way to the New Testament where Homosexual practice is expressly forbidden.
Jesus said in Luke 17 that the last days before his return would be like the days of Lot (Sodom), where homosexuality and pederasty were practiced. Like Sodom, where men broke the everlasting covenant with God by legislating homosexuality and pederasty, the prophet Isaiah predicted 2500 years ago that the entire world would be like this in the last days and would bring judgment on the world...
Isaiah 24:1 Behold, the LORD maketh the earth empty , and maketh it waste , and turneth it upside down, and scattereth abroad the inhabitants thereof. 2 And it shall be, as with the people, so with the priest; as with the servant, so with his master; as with the maid, so with her mistress; as with the buyer , so with the seller ; as with the lender , so with the borrower ; as with the taker of usury , so with the giver of usury to him. 3 The land shall be utterly emptied , and utterly spoiled : for the LORD hath spoken this word. 4 The earth mourneth and fadeth away , the world languisheth and fadeth away , the haughty people of the earth do languish . 5 The earth also is defiled under the inhabitants thereof; because they have transgressed the laws, changed the ordinance, broken the everlasting covenant. 6 Therefore hath the curse devoured the earth, and they that dwell therein are desolate : therefore the inhabitants of the earth are burned , and few men left .

I don’t think it was as obvious as Pompeii because the cataclysmic event basically melted everything to glass. And no, I do not think that MSN will report on this.

How EVIL were the Sodomites? How rampant was the perversion? The Sodomites saw Angels, that likely looked like young men, entering Lot’s house. The Sodomite fiends began banging on Lot’s door demanding that the “young looking men” be sent outside that they might “know”(HAVE SEX) with them. The truly pathetic Lot offered up his own daughters to satisfy the Sodomites lust and the deviant Sodomites demanded the young men instead! Is it any wonder that God poured out His wrath on this wicked city.
