Now that the Islamic State's blood-soaked establishment/expansion has been been slowed considerably by Kurdish Peshmerga units -- along with US/coalition airstrikes -- the Kurds are moving into ISIS territory around Mosul (which the Islamists have been turning into a fortress) as ISIS appears to be on the defensive...ISIS in Iraq is nearly finished. The Iranian proxies in Iraq have been letting the Kurds do most of the fighting. The next act in this sad play will be the Iranian proxies attacking the victorious Kurds after ISIS has been destroyed there. Oh, and Obama doing nothing about it, unless he increases the monthly payment (currently $700 million) to Iran.
That is a possibility..
Ironically, if ISIS is able to hold on until a Republican takes office in 2016 (or a less willfully incompetent Democrat), then when ISIS does go down, the Kurds would be more likely to expect help from the US against Iran/Shiites, if such a move was made.
