Pink Floyd and Van Halen did some excellent work during the 80s as did many other groups. Just not seeing them or much else worthwhile in that admittedly abbreviated list.
Not to mention the ‘80s were a great decade to be a rocker. The handful of survivors of the New Wave of British Heavy Metal (particularly Def Leppard and Iron Maiden) rose to prominence, speed/thrash metal was born, and not all hair metal sucked.
