Are you kidding me?
Psst: read your profile page. Still jobless? I just started hunting work. It usually hunts me. But now I find I am over qualified, too independent, not bi-lingual, or too white. Sigh.
“Ain’t kidding” as for the other yes, I am not a constituent group (I’m not too dark, not bilingual anymore, too old and I was for over 25 years, a stay-at-home-mom of four great kids. No bites even more. Found out in this economy: a stay at home mom with watching my own kids (gasp) watching others for free (gasp) being a school volunteer, Girl and Boy Scouts for four years plus substitute teaching doesn’t win me any extra points for job landing. I get the: “why didn’t you work”? (I have an engineering degree, and I DID WORK, I WATCHED my FOUR KIDS, CLEANED MY OWN HOUSE, DID MY OWN YARD, COOK OUR OWN FOOD, SHOPPED FOR OUR OWN FAMILY. We made the financial “sacrifice” to use ONE income so I could raise our kids. So and Engineering degree 30 year old isn’t worth much. I have my Paralegal (only want multi years of experience (I only had one) and I do have my earned K-8 and ESL K-12 license (no jobs for teachers without knowing someone. So much for the subbing and volunteering in teachers rooms all those years. Administration want to hire the young, cute ones. I’m not worth more than an Illegal Immigrant according to Barry and the Illegal Immigrant Lobby. Plenty of Americans looking and wanting work, the Zuckerbergs of the Hi-tech lying about the LACK of engineer so they can bring in low wage hi-techies and the rest we know what they want and I’m not bilingual nor the “right” ethnicity. It’s a disgrace and depressing.
