The only thing the MSM would be interested re the name “Booker T. Washington” would be “Booker T. and the MGs” rock group. The intellectual level of the MSM is slightly above that of the sea slug but lesser than that of the plague rats.
Good to hear there are people out there keeping the torch lit.
Pick...oh never mind.
Never knew that sharecropping/tenant farming was a sustainable way of life—in “school”, I would only hear/read sob stories about how sharecropping financially devastated Negro families—back when Negroes actually had families. A better time indeed, in spite of the racism. (Thos. Sowell notes that Negro wealth actually INCREASED *before* the “Great Society”)
(Yes, this realisation dates me somewhat. Thanks to my passion for independent study, I am NOT a victim of the government indoctrination service.)
DuBois, an avowed Communist, promoted the concept of the "Talented Tenth," i.e., that if the very brightest Negroes were somehow selected and educated, the resulting 'Black Intelligentsia" would somehow elevate the black masses: a 'Trickle Down' effect, so to speak. With support from the Socialists, Communists, and Harvard University, among others, he won the debate, his ideas becoming official Democrat Party policy.
OTOH, Booker T. Washington believed in individual: fundamental education for everyone, and then training in skilled trades, and for those able, the professions. In short, he believed that economic independence and self-sufficiency would eventually lead to social equality. Booker T. Washington did not win the debate.
Booker T. Washington was a great American whose name, somehow, has become anathema to Liberals. The 'hood is the result: home to a culture of crime, riot, violence, illiteracy, and illegitimacy.
