Easy - they convinced a majority of the rest of the population first.
Corporations don’t lead the public, they follow. We keep talking about the 2%, forgetting that it’s not about gays themselves but about all the people who support their agenda. Even in red states, that’s 50%. And that’s why companies are falling over themselves to be seen on the “right” side.
We win back the country, and the corporations will follow.
You’re missing the Trojan Horse aspect of what’s happened.
There are major differences between tolerance, acceptance and active promotion. Tolerance opened the door to what is happening now: active promotion. So in a way corporations are leading.
