You see the top left part of the page where it says "Articles", "Activity" and "Comments"?

If you click on the "Comments" button, every time you refresh, you'll get the latest comment that's been posted regardless of the thread.

So somebody who simply wants a particular thread to get more attention will type in BTTT or Bump so the thread shows up at the top of the page.

It's a way to prolong a thread life.

Is it because the longer a posting and thread comments are on, the less likely more people will see it because new posts are going up all the time and it slips further back in the pack? It's just a way of pushing the posting back to the top of the pile so more people have a chance to see and comment on it?

Just making sure I understand the reason behind doing the Bump or BTTT. I'm a little slow on the uptake at these things. :-)
