Minorities and whites get along just fine, with one glaring exception. For example, San Jose is about 1/3 white, asian and hispanic. It is a safe, prosperous city and has one the lowest crime rates in the country.
El Pass TX is about 80% hispanic and the remainder mostly white. It, too, is one of the safest cities in the US.
The common denominator among safe, prosperous cities is a small black population. See city-data for numerous other examples. We should not ignore the elephant in the room.
We are living in NC, after spending years in DC and Atlanta, and although there is a large Black population here, these folks are generally hard working, friendly and polite. I think it’s the pattern the local leadership lays down that’s important, both for Blacks and Whites. The key is the class, more than the race, and, in my opinion, the history of race relations over generations in a given area. The history of minority murder in Georgia and Mississippi, for example, was horrific. Not so much in NC.
