6 I agree, he would be good for the country. But I believe Sessions, like certain other outspoken members of Congress, would refuse to play the game of diplomacy while campaigning. He may be hindered by his honesty with voters not ready to deal with the facts.

I wrote him back in early 2009 to oppose Eric Holder's nomination to AG. He replied saying that the POTUS has the right to nominate who he wants. Sessions allowed Holder's nomination to proceed out of the Senate Judiciary Committee. He did vote against Holder when the nomination came before the whole Senate.

Here's your best reason for coalescing around Cruz over Sessions, and I say this with a deep appreciation for what Sessions is doing concerning Illegal Immigration:

Cruz (TX) - 99% (Overall Average) - 95% (CReview) - 100% (Heritage) - 100% (CFG) - 100% (ACU) - 100% (FreedomWorks)

Sessions (AL) - 83% (Overall Average) - 80% (CReview) - 79% (Heritage) - 88% (CFG) - 88% (ACU) - 82% (FreedomWorks)

Hard to argue with those numbers. Thanks for posting. Sessions is more of a gentleman statesman. He doesn't appear to possess the mettle to press an offensive campaign. Cruz does, but he will be crufied by the MSM for his perceived beligerance.

26 Sessions's mind and positions are AA1+ His image, persona, speaking are less strong than Cruz, imho. Tall dark and handsome vs. shorter, older, less dynamic. Sad that those qualities make a difference today, but it is the TV/internet age. Jeff will be the next Sen. Majority Leader....2 years....

Excellent analysis. I would prefer a GOP governor to emerge very soon, but we are rapidly being herded onto "last stand hill."

Jeb Bush - Hell No!
Chris Christie - Hell No!
Mitt Romney - Hell No!
Rand Paul - Hell No! He is all over the map. His apple did not roll far from the tree.
John Kasich - Hell No!
Sarah Palin - Sadly, her time has passed.
Rick Santorum - Fugedaboutit. Yesterday's news.
Mike Huckabee - Only as a last resort but he doesn't posses the mettle for an offensive campaign. Dislike his amnesty and Common Core.
Niki Haley - Need to know more about her.
Bobby Jindal - Maybe.
Mike Pence - Maybe. If he wants it, he needs to get on the ball.
Rick Perry - I'm on the fence. Too much smoke coming out of TX about him being soft on amnesty. He sure did nothing about putting extra security on the Mexican border in 2014.

So, unless some other dark horse emerges, it will have to be Cruz.

Walker. Hillary’s wants to paint herself as the champion of the middle-class. That’d be extremely hard against Walker who is a lot more middle-class than she is.

How quickly we forget about the Wizard of Wisconsin, aka, Scott Walker, Union Slayer. Walker is low key, but he is tenacious, not so quick to raise the white flag of surrender. What was it just last week, Rob Portman stomped out the kindling spark of interest in considering him as a 2016 nominee. He barely got his big toe wet, before jumping out of the pool. Walker and Cruz are going to be with us for the long term, if we let them participate. They (Walker & Cruz, in that order) would make the best team so far.
