You think it’s a grand idea to have every gangbanger and knuckle dragger allowed to carry open with no training...by all means go for it...

I am completely pro 2nd amendment ...but also live in reality...

so you think weapons should be treated like candy in a candy store...no training on responsible use of a weapon...?

We ask people to pass a test to drive a car...it’s reasonable to ask people to pass a test to carry a weapon...

“I am completely pro 2nd amendment ....but”

There it is again. There is no “but”.

Driving a car on public roads is a privilege, not a right. Carrying a gun should properly treated as a right. A a firearms instructor I agree with you. As a libertarian leaning right winger, I can not.

Ask or require?

Must everyone be required to pass a test to buy a knife? God forbid a sword, or bow?

This may be slightly beside the point here, but the “training” thing really gets on my nerves WRT firearms.

One of the boons of firearms was they did NOT require all the training and honing of those other weapons. They were much easier to use and did NOT require constant practice to use well and properly. Much less athleticism involved. Much less these days, with such advanced technology over the last 100 years alone.

Driving is a privilege, not a right. The two are not analogous.

“You think it’s a grand idea to have every gangbanger and knuckle dragger allowed to carry open with no training...by all means go for it...”

They alread do. Your requirements do nothing more than the left’s already succesfull disarming of the law abiding citizen.

“I am completely pro 2nd amendment ...but also live in reality...”

If you were “completely pro 2nd amendment, you wouldn’t have to follow it with a “but.” In addition, based on your first statement, you do NOT live in the reality of the disarmed inner city law abiding citizen.

“so you think weapons should be treated like candy in a candy store...no training on responsible use of a weapon...?”

The lawless gangbanging thugs already DO treat firearms as candy.

“We ask people to pass a test to drive a car...it’s reasonable to ask people to pass a test to carry a weapon...”

Where is the “right of the people to keep and drive a car” in our BOR?
