I don't know what the heck that is, but it's certainly a mouthful!
I know in theory the buck stops at the CEO, but I tend to give a company like GM some slack.
In my experience, the larger the organization, the more difficult it is to alter the course. It’s a lot like an ocean liner, except you keep switching captains every couple of miles.
Part of it is the sheer size, part of it is the bureaucracy that tends to come with size, especially in a public traded company.
Unionization also plays a significant role.
It’s rare that there’s a leader - any leader, who can grab the horns of a huge organization like that and make real, transformative change. Heck, look at what Reagan was able to accomplish - and not accomplish, and how much changed back as soon as he left office.
It’s for the same reasons that the federal government has about the same level of competency. At least GM manages to spit cars out one end of the behemoth. That’s more than you can say for government.
That’s why there’s a certain inherent morality in limited government. Even with the best intentions, the best people, and the best leadership, big organizations will eventually fail at some level.
Just MHO...
Instead give it to a woman who has actually ACCOMPLISHED something in her life.
Like Hillary Clinton.
