Dear Daily Caller Boys….[or too many, to little, or that's just right SarahPac]

Dear Gentlemen of the Daily Caller,

On October 10, 2014, Alex Pappas, posted an article stating that, "Palin Donates Only 5 Percent Of PAC Contributions To Candidates."

On August 2, 2013, Ben Jacobs posted an article stating that, "Palin’s political action committee spends more than it makes."

Notwithstanding the Goldilocks Principle you’ve applied to SarahPAC, I noticed that at the end of Mr. Pappas’ article he stated that " The Daily Caller attempted to reach SarahPAC’s treasurer," and I assume they did not hear back from Mr. Crawford.

Since the Daily Caller makes it a hobby of checking the books of a relatively petite political action committee, and since I consider the employees of SarahPac to be friends of mine, well, I thought I’d help some friends out and inform the gentlemen of the Daily Caller the results of SarahPac’s "too many expenditures," "too little expenditures" from this 2014 election cycle*:

Joni Ernst, Senator-elect, Iowa

Tim Scott, Senator-elect, South Carolina

Pat Roberts, Senator-elect, Kansas

Ben Sasse, Senator-elect, Nebraska

Elise Stfanik, Congresswoman-elect, New York’s 21st Congressional District

Dave Brat, Congressman-elect, Virginia’s 7th Congressional District

Tom Emmer, Congressman-elect, Minnesota’s 6th Congressional District

Barry Loudermilk, Congressman-elect, Georgia’s 11th Congressional District

Jason Smith, Congressman, Missouri’s 8th Congressional District.

Doug Ducey, Governor-elect, Arizona

Greg Abbott, Governor-elect, Texas

Pete Ricketts, Governor-elect, Nebraska

Niki Haley, Governor, South Carolina

Cory Gardner, Governor-elect, Colorado

Leslie Rutledge, Attorney General-elect, Arkansas

Adam Laxalt, Attorney General-elect, Nevada

Ken Paxton, Attorney General-elect, Texas

Mark Brnovich, Attorney General-elect, Arizona

*results in AK races pending

As Goldilocks would say, "That is just right." I wager that if you were to query the contributors to SarahPac, they’d echo Goldilocks. I look forward to your next investigation of SarahPac’s finances. I predict you’ll find what many PACs do not have: A winning streak.

Regards,

A SarahPac donor

Didn’t she also contribute to Gov. Terry Branstad (R-IA)?

Ok, but I don’t think that article addresses the Daily Caller’s point, which is that she keeps most of the money donated to her PAC. They didn’t say she kept all of it, just that she kept ALMOST all of it, which point I think still stands.

This reply to the Daily Caller does not answer the allegations in anyway.

I get that. But the reason for donating to SarahPAC rather than some of the other PACs out there, is that you are also getting the governor's influence. If the 5% only counts money putting up a commercial or being donated to the candidate's treasury, heck anyone can do that. If it goes to buying Sarah Palin a flight to Iowa or South Carolina, and her visit gets covered on the local TV channels and newspapers, and sends the signals that the candidate is OKAY with Palin to those who trust her judgment, that is worth considerably more.

Some of the folks on that list (e.g. Tim Scott) didn't need PalinPAC's help. But overall, these are symbiotic relationships, and we want our pols to build them with good folks like Sarah Palin, rather than dealers like Mitch McConnell.

Hey, no skin off my ass. To be honest, I couldn’t care less if she spent every dime of the PAC money on high living, like the Clintons, because none of the money would be mine. If I had sent money I would feel like a sucker if only 5% of it was distributed.

"If I had sent money I would feel like a sucker if only 5% of it was distributed."

I agree, but what is still not clear to me is whether the 5% includes only direct contributions to campaigns, or whether it also includes Palin's travel expenses to appear at campaign rallies for various candidates. If the latter, it is indeed disappointing. But if the 5% does NOT include travel expenses for campaign fundraisers, it would grossly understate Palin's actual contributions to those campaigns.

Just a question for my information...is Daily Caller a rightwing or leftwing media outlet?

SarahPac gave $5000 to each candidate, which I believe is the maximum allowed. Sarah Palin also gave her personal endorsement which is worth more than gold. Her endorsements open the floodgate for many of her supporters, who probably give to SarahPac, to also give to the candidates individually. Sarah Palin has considerable political power, contrary to what many may believe.

The Daily Caller as a whole was never pro Palin and indeed quite the articles have been demeaning at best.

The DC based their article on this liberal rag of watchdog group “Open Secrets”....snarky themselves the money is well guarded and in my estimation remains in good hands.

So DC as always can bound sand and anyone on here that still reads their trash should immediately refrain from referring to themselves as conservatives.

From Wikipedia:

The Daily Caller is a politically conservative[1][2] news and opinion website based in Washington, D.C., United States. Founded by Tucker Carlson, a libertarian conservative[3][4] political pundit, and Neil Patel, former adviser to former Vice President Dick Cheney.

Let’s say not very Palin friendly....

See here

(And of course a former Bush speech writer calls HRC the big winner despite the fact that her scorecard was 22 winners and 32 losers.)

Do you and the Daily Caller feel that Palin should donate MORE than the $5000 limit, so that she can be prosecuted by her political enemies?

Her support is what's priceless, and the Daily Caller didn't acknowledge that in either of its hitpieces.

But those articles, like anything produced by the Left, are not about the truth. They're about kneecapping the enemy, and lying by omission...

:)
