The difference, I fear, would be minimal. Biden would be ineffective, but wouldn't intend to be. Obama is ineffective, and fully intends to be, because effective responses to the issues of the day would have to be responses that go against his ideology.

I don't believe that - Obama has gone into lame-duck mode, he will pass no new legislation and evidently would like to spend the next two years at various golf courses. Biden would come in preparing to run for re-election in two years - he and the Democrats would put together and push for massive new spending programs in preparation for his run.

The last thing this country needs is a new Democratic president pursuing a first-term agenda - it'll be bad enough if we have Hillary in that situation in 2017, rooting for Biden to get to do it in 2014 is nuts.

Back when it became obvious that many here would not vote for Romney, even if it meant another term for Obama, I offered my toaster as a candidate that would not continue the destruction of my country. The toaster is a couple years more experienced now so I offer its services again.
