I read somewhere on the ‘net, but can’t remember where - that there might be “black gold” in West Africa, and, if true, might play into the economic motive.
Maybe a more knowledgeable FReeper can do some researching into this? I don’t know enough to separate rumor from supposition from fact. Therefore, I could be dangerous, you know!
